Who doesn’t love Christmas? During this holiday we get together, have fun, spend a wonderful time together and give each other gifts.
The Christmas season is a beautiful time for all of us.
To be honest, I love all parties, but my favorite is and remains Christmas.
Every time December approaches I get super excited. I start shopping for Christmas decorations, compiling gift lists for friends and family, calculating savings, and dividing them between gifts, food, decorations, travel, and much more.
Although Christmas is a beautiful holiday, it is also true that before this,
we undergo a lot of stress and we tend to forget to take care of our physical and mental well-being.
The period before Christmas can be as exciting as it is stressful.
So it’s important that you take the time to self-care to get to Christmas full of energy and relaxed.
This is why I decided to share with you 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas that you can start practicing as early as the beginning of December.
Pin it for later!

25 days of Christmas self-care ideas
With Christmas approaching it is normal to have a lot of things on your mind and forget to take care of yourself.
But by doing so, you run the risk of arriving at Christmas more stressed than happy.
The secret lies in taking moments for yourself every day and practicing relaxing and enjoyable activities.
This contributes to physical and mental well-being and prevents burnout.
For this reason, the advice is to dedicate yourself for 25 days to self-care activities that can help you slow down and enjoy every single day before Christmas.
You can start practicing these 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas from December 1st until Christmas day, or you can choose to start it later and carry it through the end of the year.
Let’s start.
Day 1: Declutter your home
On the first day of the 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas, dedicate it to the home.
Clean the rooms, vacuum, mop, dust, place books in the bookcase, and throw away anything you don’t need.
Tidying up the house is a great way to exercise but it is also good for the mind, as you have more order and organization in the space you live in.
In my house, for example, we clean every day, but there are some days when we do a deeper cleaning. I will reserve it for the first of December, so let’s do it together!
Day 2: Spend time with loved ones
Spending time with your friends or family is a great way to boost your mood and stay happy.
Sometimes we don’t realize it, but the time spent with the people we love are those moments that we will keep forever in our hearts and that we think about in the future.
So on this day, don’t make any commitments and invite your loved ones or go visit them yourself. This will make them happy and make you happy too.
Day 3: Do something nice for yourself
In everyday life, we are so busy with work, study, or other activities that we forget to do something nice for ourselves.
Today I want you to dedicate it entirely to something you like and make you happy.
This can be baking a cake, getting a manicure, taking a day off from work or study, or reading your favorite book.
Whatever it is, do it! Sometimes it’s best to stop and take care of yourself, not just others.
For example, I love music and dance. Every day I try to include this activity in my day and this makes me happy. So, I want you to do something you like too, every day.
Day 4: Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate
What’s more relaxing and cute than a cozy cup of hot chocolate on a December day?
Make yourself a hot chocolate, wrap yourself in a soft blanket, put on some Christmas music, and if it’s snowing, sit by the window and watch the landscape.
I know, it looks just like in the movies, but I love doing this thing. Or you could take a book and read it or think of something nice, like Christmas.
Whatever, hot chocolate is a must and should not be missing!
Day 5: Have some shopping
If you haven’t bought the Christmas decorations, that new pair of shoes that you laid your eyes on, or the dress you’ve always wanted, then now is the right time to do it.
This is the day reserved for shopping. You can go alone or go with someone, but remember to have fun and spend some of your money on yourself.
While it is true that it is important to save money, especially during holidays, it is also true that you live only once, and that sometimes it is okay to spend a little more on something you like.
Day 6: Unplug from your phone
How many times have you picked up your phone and wasted time scrolling through your Instagram feed? And how many times have you felt envious of seeing other people’s perfect life while yours seems imperfect?
One of the ways to avoid this is to take a break from social media and unplug from your phone.
disconnecting from the phone is one of the self-care activities that I love so much and that has helped me a lot to focus on myself and improve myself, without wasting time looking at others.
It also allowed me to spend more time with my family and devote myself to projects for my future.
With your phone out of reach, you can focus more on yourself, both physically and especially mentally.
You can improve your life without having to compare it to that of other people and you have more time to do what you love.
So on the sixth day of Christmas self-care, turn your attention to something other than the phone and enjoy yourself.
Day 7: Try something new
Trying new things opens us to new horizons and lets us discover things about ourselves that we never knew.
Today is the perfect day to try something new.
Have you always wanted to play the piano? Just do it.
Or did you want to experiment with a recipe invented by you? Cook it.
Whatever you want to do that you’ve never done, do it today. You will never know if the recipe can turn out to be very delicious or if playing the piano is less complicated than other people. Just try it.
Day 8: Decorate for Christmas
There are those who begin to decorate the tree immediately after thanksgiving and those who instead begin a few days before Christmas.
Being born in Italy, December 8 represents the day when it is customary to decorate the Christmas tree and put on all the Christmas decorations.
So if you don’t have any plans for December 8th, use it to decorate the Christmas tree and house.
Put the lights on, decorate the tree, and make the environment a welcoming place.
You could use the decorations from the previous year or if you are creative, you could create them yourself. Christmas will be even more beautiful!
Day 9: Journal
Writing in a journal is a relaxing activity and helps to clarify one’s thoughts and feelings, thus acquiring valuable self-knowledge.
Furthermore, it is a good tool for metabolizing problems and particularly oppressive situations.
It also helps you reflect on your emotions and feelings and increase your awareness of yourself.
You only need a paper and a pen for free writing, but guided journaling is also available, where you have all the questions ready and you just have to answer them.
Day 10: Go for a holiday drive
Staying indoors always hurts, so take advantage of the snow and the bitter frost and go on a holiday drive.
Choose a nice destination or take the car and discover new places.
Turn your trip into something adventurous but relaxing at the same time. You can go alone or with your loved ones and enjoy the time together.
Day 11: Build a snowman and play in the snow
If it’s snowing, why not take the opportunity to reserve this day out in the snow?
You could invite friends and family and enjoy time out together, or just you.
Grab your jacket, hat and scarf, put on your boots, and head out into the snow.
Build a big beautiful snowman and enjoy the magical moment. Play throwing snowballs, lie on the ground, and watch the white sky.
These are all things that I also do as soon as it snows a little and I have a lot of fun with my loved ones.

Day 12: Write a letter to Santa Claus
Don’t make fun of me about this, but which of you so much hopes that Santa Claus will read your letters for real?
On this day write a letter to Santa Claus. You can ask him what you want.
If you would like something you can write it, but you could write to Santa as if you were writing to a friend, telling about your biggest wishes, your goals for the new year, and what person you would like to become.
This is enough. When you have finished writing the letter, hang it on the Christmas tree or near the Christmas socks.
Day 13: Start a holiday puzzle
Every holiday, since there are vacations, I spend most of my time on fun activities, such as social games, watching funny movies, learning new choreographies, and many other things.
One of my favorite things to include in your 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas is to start a holiday-themed puzzle.
Since it will soon be Christmas, get yourself a Christmas-themed puzzle and build it.
You can choose it according to your tastes and the difficulty you prefer. But I challenge you to build one of 1000 pieces! The hardest things are always the funniest.
It may seem impossible at first, but as you progress, it becomes satisfying.
Day 14: Shop at the Christmas market
Christmas markets! What is Christmas without all those lights, happy-eating people, traditional foods, and festive air on the street?
Christmas markets can be meeting places and good meals together with our loved ones, as well as perfect to buy some souvenirs to give to someone.
Eat cotton candy, baked chestnuts, and hot potatoes, and enjoy your time.
Day 15: Read a holiday book
On the fifteenth day of the 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas, read a book at your leisure.
whether it’s horror, adventure, or Christmas-themed, dedicate this day to reading a book.
Reading is a good and relaxing activity for the mind, especially if accompanied by a warm and cozy drink and wrapped in a soft and feathery blanket.
Day 16: Have a gift-wrapping day
On this day you have a gift-wrapping day.
Wraps made by professionals are very beautiful, but those made by you will be much more original and convey love.
Tell me, who wastes time wrapping a gift when there are others who can do it for you?
Whoever receives the gift will realize that they are a special person, and you will make them happy on Christmas day.
Buy everything you need, choose the most beautiful colors and themes and give space to creativity. Trust that you will have a lot of fun too!
Day 17: Have a holiday movie marathon
So this is absolutely my favorite activity on any holiday.
But since we’re talking about Christmas, I can’t fail to mention it here too.
Have a Christmas movie marathon and immerse yourself in the festive mood.
Make a list of the Christmas movies you would like to watch and make sure they are available. If they are not, you can safely download them to a USB stick and the problem is solved.
Before you sit down and watch the movies, make yourself some treats and a hot drink, grab some cushy blankets and set the mood by turning on the holiday lights.
Now you are ready. Wrap yourself in your blanket, invite friends and family to watch movies with you, and enjoy a happy time.
This is what I do and I assure you that I do not consider it a waste of time.
Day 18: Listen to Christmas songs
One of the Christmas self-care ideas that I recommend is to put on some Christmas music, especially in the evening, when it’s all dark and there are lights and decorations that provide light.
What a wonderful sight, and above all what a magical air! There are many Christmas songs and melodies that you can listen to.
Mariah Carey’s are wonderful but there are also classic songs, just as beautiful. Create your Christmas playlist and play songs throughout the day.
Day 19: Bake Christmas cookies
If you are a lover of cooking and you like being in the kitchen, then you will love today’s idea. Baking Christmas cookies will be fun!
There are many recipes on Youtube that you could look at or you can just grab some cookbooks from the library and make yummy treats and cookies.
Day 20: Prepare a nice dinner
For the twentieth day of Christmas self-care ideas, prepare an exquisite dinner for yourself and your family.
Surprise them with something delicious. You can keep track of your and their favorite foods or cook something completely new.
Whatever it is, have fun preparing it!
Day 21: Wear Christmas PJs all day and chill
Have you ever wondered what is the most comfortable thing to do on any given day?
Of course being in bed all day doing nothing, and enjoying life in the comfort of your own home.
Wear a nice comfy Christmas motif and chill at home.
These days do not always come and it is not always possible to afford such luxuries in working life or as a student.
So, take advantage of it when you are free and just chill because you deserve it.
Day 22: Light up the night
For tonight, don’t just turn on the holiday lights.
You could also use candles for the house or just in the room where you are.
Illuminating the night with candles makes everything much more beautiful and relaxing. Who knows if you like it later, and you start using more candles instead of light?
Day 23: Reflect on the year
As the new year approaches, it is obviously impossible to forget to think about how we spent the present year.
Reflecting on the year you are about to end is very important if you want to grow personally and improve yourself.
This is because reflecting on the things you have done and the results you have achieved helps you develop a different approach to future things.
This will make you a better person than you were last year.
One thing I usually do is write me all the things I have done, the things I wanted to do, the things I failed, and the things I managed to succeed.
By writing everything down, I get a visual of everything and this will help me plan for future things.
Reflect on your goals achieved and not achieved, on personal relationships, on your personal growth, on work or study, and your financial situation. Promise yourself that you will do better next year and always be kind to yourself no matter what.
Day 24: Invest in self-care for the new year
As they say, new year, new you!
This step shouldn’t be limited to just the beginning of a new year, but you can start it whenever you want.
However, since we are towards the end of this year and you need motivation, this is it.
If you are determined to become a better person, it all has to start with you.
You have to invest in your self-care, but I’m not just talking about physical appearance.
Only by investing in these 6 areas of self-care will you be able to achieve the best in yourself.
Decide who you would like to be, what you would like from life, your goals, and what your ambitions are.
Self-improvement will never end, but you could take advantage of the new year to start it!
Day 25: Be present
Last but not least, is to be present in everyday life.
Enjoy every single day, create memories with the people you love, focus on yourself now, and in the present, and don’t let the things of the past take control of you.
Try to make the present better than yesterday, and stop worrying about things you can’t control.
Conclusion
That’s it for the 25 days of Christmas self-care ideas for an extraordinary holiday.
I hope that you can practice each of these self-care ideas and that you can enjoy every single day before Christmas, without stress and worries.
With love,
